The Annual Spirit of Pride Community Awards Dinner will officially kick off the Pride Days festivities at 6:00 pm at the Sweetwater Branch Inn, 625 E University Ave. Our featured speaker will be former Congresswoman Gwen Graham and our Emcee will be Gainesville City Commissioner Gail Johnson. Join Love Out Loud (L.O.L.) for a special Celtic Pride Eucharist Service at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church 100 NE 1st St, Gainesville. We are an inclusive community of LGBTQ+, friends, and allies extending love to all God’s children through this Pride Days Service including communion. Join the Human Rights Council of North Central Florida for a special Pride Days video presentation of STONEWALL UPRISING a production shown on PBS’s American Experience examining the events surrounding the Stonewall riots that began during the early hours of June 28, 1969. Saturday, Oct. 26th, 12pm:
Gainesville Pride Day kicks off with the Annual Pride Parade which begins at 7th St and W University Ave and proceeds east on University Ave to S 1st St. Sign up at gainesvillepride.org to be a part of the parade.
Saturday, Oct. 26th, 1-9pm:
Celebrate Your PRIDE at the FESTIVAL
Don’t miss the annual Pride Festival in Downtown Gainesville’s Bo Diddley Plaza and on the surrounding streets. The Festival, which is co-sponsored by the City of Gainesville Department of Cultural Affairs, will have dozens of local musical acts and over one hundred vendors. A “Kids Space” will also be available. The event is free and open to the public.
Sunday, Oct. 27th:
The United Church of Gainesville (1624 NW 5th Ave) dedicates this special Sunday to celebrate our diverse community. We will worship at Pride-themed services at 9:15 & 11:15 a.m., led by Associate Minister Talia Raymond, followed by a potluck brunch in the fellowship hall after the 11:15 service that all are welcome to attend. Don’t miss the Pride seminar, “Spiritual Affirmation and Support for LGBTQ+ Couples” at 10:15 am.
Sunday, Oct. 27th, 10:30am:
Come celebrate with us at Emiliano’s Café (7 SE 1st Ave, Gainesville) and bring the 2019 Pride Celebration to a savory and delicious conclusion. Co-hosted by Gainesville Community Alliance and PCCNCF. $23.50 per person (includes tax and gratuity). Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance by Oct 21st. Available from GCA and PCCNCF.
